Why attorneys use AI lawyer headshots

  • No time out of the office

Upload selfies at your desk. There is no session to book around court dates or client calls.
  • Matching law firm headshots

Each lawyer orders from their own selfies with the same attire and background, so every bio page on the firm site lines up.
  • Serious, plain styling

Head and shoulders or chest up, conservative outfits, no text or props in the frame.
  • Fine for firm marketing

You own the headshots and can use them on the firm site, in directories, press releases and printed brochures.

Getting attorney headshots right

  1. What to wear

A dark suit in navy, charcoal or black with a light shirt or blouse is the usual choice for court and firm pages. Choose the courtroom attire for the most formal version. Business casual fits in-house counsel, startups and family law practices that want to feel approachable. Solid colors read better than patterns when the photo shrinks to a directory thumbnail, and a simple tie or neckline keeps attention on your face.

  2. Female attorney headshots

Female attorney headshots follow the same rule as any other: dress the way you would for an important client meeting. A dark suit, or a blazer over a simple blouse, works on firm bio pages, with modest jewelry that won't distract at small sizes. Answer the hair questions with your usual length and color, so the headshots look like you on the day a client walks in.

  3. Match the firm

If your firm's bio pages share a background and crop, choose that same background in the order and ask colleagues to do the same. A partner and an associate on different backdrops look like they work at two firms. For a new firm site, agree on attire and background first: a gray studio for a classic look, or the law library for a more traditional feel.

  4. Where to use your attorney headshot

Your firm bio, LinkedIn, Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Justia, your state bar profile, a Google Business Profile and speaker bios all have room for a photo. Use one headshot across them so clients and referring lawyers recognize you. Directories crop to small squares, so pick a chest-up studio shot there and keep the law library or courthouse photos for your firm's own site.

  5. Choosing a background

The studio backdrop is the safe default for any practice area. The law library suits firms that want a traditional look, and the office background fits corporate and transactional practices. The courthouse steps work for litigators and criminal defense lawyers whose clients want to picture them in court. You can pick several, and you get an even mix across the backgrounds you choose.

  6. Advertising rules

If the photo appears in ads or on your website, your state's attorney advertising rules apply, and some states have specific rules about images in lawyer advertising. A current, accurate photo of yourself is the plain choice. Every file carries Content Credentials stating that AI generated it, so don't strip them, and follow any rule that requires you to disclose an AI image.

Questions about Lawyer Headshots

Anything else? Email support@belagon.com.

Do I need to wear a suit in my selfies?

No. The suit or business casual outfit is picked in the order, and the headshots show it. In the selfies themselves, a clear view of your face in good light is what counts.

Will the headshots look like me?

We check every headshot against your selfies and remove the ones that don't match. Choose the ones a client who has met you in person would recognize straight away.

How much do lawyer headshots cost?

Attorney headshots are $35 for 40, $45 for 60 or $75 for 100 at 2048 × 3072 pixels, our largest size and the one to use for print. One payment, no subscription.

Can the whole firm get matching headshots?

Yes, if everyone makes the same choices. Each lawyer orders a set from their own selfies, with the attire and background the firm agreed on.

Are the headshots marked as AI?

Yes. Each file includes Content Credentials, signed metadata that records it was made with AI. Leave them in place.

What happens to my photos?

Your selfies are deleted 7 days after delivery and your headshots 30 days after delivery. Save the files for your firm bio and directories before then, or delete everything earlier from your account.

What if I don't like them?

Write to us within 14 days of delivery, before downloading any headshot, and ask for a free redo or a full refund. The refund policy sets out the terms.
